1. Shiv Sena – Shiv Sena, also known by the name Sena, is an Indian far-right regional political party. Its ideology is based on ideology and Hindu nationalism, founded on 19 June 1966 by political cartoonist Bal Thackeray. The party originally emerged from a movement in Mumbai demanding preferential treatment for Maharashtrians over migrants to the city and it is currently headed by Thackerays son, Uddhav Thackeray. Members of Shiv Sena are referred to as Shivsainiks, although the partys primary base is still in Maharashtra, it has tried to expand to a pan-Indian base. In the 1970s, it moved from advocating a pro-Marathi ideology to one supporting a broader Hindu nationalist agenda. The party started taking part in Mumbai Municipal elections since its inception and it has been a coalition partner in the National Democratic Alliance since 1998, including the Vajpayee Government during 1998–2004 and the present Narendra Modi Government. The party has a hold over the Bollywood film industry. It has been referred to as an extremist, chauvinist, as well as a fascist party, Shiv Sena founder, Bal Thackeray, has taken comparisons with fascism as compliments as well as openly stated that he didnt believe in democracy. Mumbai, in ways the economic capital of India, became the state capital of Maharashtra. On one hand, people belonging to the Gujarati community owned the majority of the industry, on the other hand, there was a steady flow of South Indian migrants to the city who came to take many white-collar jobs. In 1960 Bal Thackeray, a Mumbai-based cartoonist, began publishing the cartoon weekly Marmik. Through this publication, he started disseminating anti-migrant sentiments, on 19 June 1966, Thackeray founded the Shiv Sena as a political organisation. 2. Aadesh Bandekar – Aadesh Bandekar is a Marathi actor, TV host, and a Shiv Sena leader. He is known for hosting the Marathi game show Home Minister on Zee Marathi since 2004, along with Home Minister, since 2012 he also hosts the game show Divided on ETV Marathi. Bandekar hosted the musical Antakshari show Tak Dhina Dhin on DD National, Bandekar is known for hosting the game show Home Minister on Zee Marathi. In the show, Bandekar visits various homes and plays games with the housewives where the winner wins a Paithani sari and he is popular among the women of Maharashtra as Bhauji. In 2009 while he contested the State Assembly elections, the show was hosted by actor Jitendra Joshi, Bandekar resumed the show in 2010 after losing the elections. He has also hosted many game shows like Hafta Band, WoW, DNA Ekamatra family Show. He has also done compering of award shows, Bandekar has worked in Marathi TV serials like Avaghachi Sansar and Avantika on Zee Marathi. He debuted in films opposite Mrinal Kulkarni in the film Vishwaas, Bandekar, under his banner Soham Productions, is also the producer of the crime-based Marathi television show Lakshya that airs on STAR Pravah. Bandekar joined the Maharashtrian political party Shiv Sena in September 2009 and he became the second member of Shiv Sena from the entertainment industry after singer and Indian Idol Season 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant had previously joined it. He contested the State Assembly elections of 2009 from the Mahim constituency and he continued his work under Shiv Sena and played a backstage role in the 2012s Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Bandekar graduated from the Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1990 earning his bachelors degree in commerce and he is married to Marathi and Hindi film and television actress Suchitra Bandekar. Ram Bhankal – Ram Bhankal alias Ram Bhau was an Indian politician and Social Worker of the party Shiv Sena, a right-wing Marathi ethnocentric party active mainly in the Western Indian state of Maharashtra. Shri Ram Bhankal was active in politics and social work for 47 years from 1966 to 2013, shri Ram Bhankal was an active participant in the movement for the rights of the indigenous people of Maharashtra to get first preference in jobs through Sthaniya Lokadhikar Samiti. He spread Bal Thackrey’s Ideology like an all over western Maharashtra with the help of his hard actuate speeches. 4. Maruti Bhapkar – Maruti Bhapkar is an Indian Politician, Who belongs to Shiv Sena party. He is former a member and convenor of Pune District for Aam Aadmi Party. He is a social activist and IAC activist in Pimpri Chinchwad. He was a corporator at Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation from year 2007 to 2012 and he fought the 2009 Lok Sabha Elections from Maval as an Independent candidate. Maruti Bhapkar was associated with Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal in the Jan Lokpal Andolan since the first day and he plays a significant role in the andolan related activities in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad area. He participated in the Jail Bharo andolan following Anna-jis call and he introduced a proposal supporting the Jan Lokpal Andolan in PCMCs general body meeting and it was passed with majority. In his capacity as the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation corporator from 2007–2012, every 3 months, a Jan Sabha was held in the ward to engage public consulations on various issues such as roads, parks, cultural center, slum rehabilitation, electricity and police. He implemented public proposals that went against his personal opinion, since its establishment in 1982, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was not audited until Marutis intervention in 2000. He filed a PIL in the Bombay High Court following which an audit was conducted, the audit exposed Rs.4 billion worth of irregularities. Bhapkars agitation demanding action against irregularities in MIDC land allocation to NCPs Ajit Pawar aide resulted in Rs.7.2 million fine against NCP MLA Vilas Lande, using RTI, Maruti Bhapkar exposed the Pawar family involvement in Lavasa scam. 5. Chhagan Bhujbal – Chhagan Bhujbal is a politician from the state of Maharashtra, India. Bhujbal was Minister of Public Works & Special Assistance Department, Maharashtra State and Guardian Minister, Nashik District, Member of Legislative Assembly, Yeola Assembly, Bhujbal is an Other Backward Class leader and has mass base in Maharashtra. Bhujbal started his career from Shiv Sena in the 1960s. Before entering politics he was a vendor in Byculla Market where his mother was selling fruits with a small shop. He was amongst initial members of Shiv Sena and worked enthusiastically to spread Shiv Sena in nooks and he was duly rewarded for hard work put in party building. Bhujbal started his career with the Shiv Sena party. He left the party in 1991 and joined the Indian National Congress, later, after the Indian National Congress leader Sharad Pawar decided to split from the Congress and form his own party, the Nationalist Congress Party, Bhujbal went along with him. Before he was elected as Shivsena Corporator in 1973, Bhujbal had already established his reputation as outspoken, dare devil, during his work as Corporator, Bhujbal maintained consistent contact, communication with rank and file of his constituency and its neighbourhood. Between 1973–1984, Bhujbal became the leader of the Shivsena-led opposition in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Later he was elected as Mayor of Mumbai and he was in Shivsena for 25 years and rose from Shakha Pramukh and worked twice as Mayor of Mumbai. He was amongst earliest MLAs of Shivsena elected from Mazgaon first in 1985 & again in 1990. To the city of Mumbai, where he spent his childhood and got his early bearings for survival despite all odds, being devoted to the cause of Marathi speaking community and Mumbais beautification, he evolved his campaign for Sundar Mumbai, Marathi Mumbai. As part of campaign, Bhujbal took bold steps to contain the rapid concretisation and pollution that was beginning to threaten Mumbai. He initiated a campaign for planting trees in open spaces and identifying public squares and gardens, while creating beautifully landscaped island-gardens at traffic signals and this unique feat of injecting much-needed greenery into a polluted and cemented urban landscape earned him appreciation from all quarters. Though Mr. Bhujbal was arrested on March 14, his nephew, both are currently in judicial custody. 6. Subhash Desai – Subhash Desai is a leader of Shiv Sena from Maharashtra. He is a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council and he had represented Goregaon in 1990,2004 and 2009. 7. Rajkumar Dhoot – He is from the Shiv Sena party. He is a well-known industrialist and was born on 11 September 1955 at Ahmednagar in Maharashtra and his father, the late Shri Nandlal Madhavlal Dhoot, was an Indian Industrialist and the founder of Videocon. His brother, Venugopal Dhoot is the Chairman & Managing Director of Videocon Industries Limited and he was a special invitee to the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He has been consecutively re-elected for a term for the Rajya Sabha this year. Mr. Dhoot regularly promotes free medical checkups and free medicine distribution camps to help the poverty line population in. Mr. Dhoot is also helping the patients with poor eyesight or with developing blindness by regularly conducting free eye check-up, every year approximately 1200 patients are benefitted from such camps.
